My daughter was placed here on a Monday afternoon, sign language interpreter requested none provided. The benefits are valuable She states she tried to tell them this relaxed her during her anxious moments at home but only got met with resistance and told “it's against policy, It's not gonna happen” Dismissing pt requests and concerns is in no way beneficial to a person there for depression and anxiety let alone a person suffering those things in silence being neglected by lack of interpreter The American with Disabilities as well as the Commission for the Deaf have been contacted and I will continue to go up the ladder. Our pt's were always encouraged to take adv antage of outdoor time in the sun and fresh air. I am a nurse and worked Psych for many years. States they will not allow any to go outside and reap the benefits that the sunshine and fresh air provides. ![]() ![]() Here it is Friday afternoon and still no interpreter provided. she was given a television type line that continually freezes up resulting in delay of appropriate care d/t communication access poor. If my complaint with the hospital does not get resolved I will sue. The hospital is dispicable and the female Indian doctor who placed me under the hold should be disbarred or fired. They strapped me to a bed and threatened to inject me with medication that if I refused they would not comply, but did not apply once they forced my hand into complying. They have it all on camera and I'm going to file a complaint to receive compensation for a $200 phone that was broke in the process of fighting for my freedom. Their only saving grace was a couple of the nurses and a replacement physician. When I first expressed my desire to leave I spoke slow and clearly as well as holding my hands in the air as they were closing in on me so that they didn' t hold me for being aggressive but when they started grabbing at me after they blocked the exit and were getting hostile, I punched the security guard and they held me under a 96 hour hold from Wednesday to Saturday after I demanded they let me leave. After I was better and the heart palpitations stopped, I wanted to leave and expressed this AMA but they, every staff member including the doctors, security guards, nurses, etc., we're crowding around me and blocked the exit to prevent me from leaving. Period. They put me under an illegal 96 hour hold after I accidentally overdosed on some medication. I will not take a family member to this hospital if it can be avoided there will NOT be a new grad, inexperienced RN providing my family members care. In over 30 years in the medical field, this was the only hospital I worked at that would hire new grads to work in critical care areas, such as ER, ICU, etc. Very poor pay scale for experienced RN's. ![]() Verbal abuse by co-workers and doctors was also a typical occurrence and an accepted behavior. Managers cronies got better assignments and undeserved recognition. Favoritism was an operating standard throughout the hospital. That made me very uncomfortable and also made me wonder what was said about me when I wasn't around. Management poorly trained and unprofessional heard the manager in PACU and the GI manager talk badly about co-workers. I left after ten months.Įxtremely run down and dirty behind the scenes patients and their families would be appalled. Within weeks of being hired, I realized this was a horrible place. I would stop working as an RN before I would consider going back to work at Freeman Hospital.
